The pitch was in awful condition to say the least, I don't like the architecture of the stadium, its hardly groundbreaking. The big plus was supposedly the proximity of the stands to the field which would increase the atmosphere. Only people who were there like Ash or Aidan can say for sure, but from the Tv the atmosphere was disappointing.

I don't know what were your perceptions concerning the stadium...

What is annoying me most is the commentators and the rest of the pundits. Blah, blah, blah special occasion, special day, new Wembley, blah, blah, blah. Look, its not that spectacular, its years late and way over budget and it isn't that impressive. As they old fan said before the match, "it looks like an airport."

Face it the new Wembley is nothing compared to the last, how they managed to go so far over budget and be so late I don't know so shut up about your special day, eh? :)

Anyway, the "new Wembley" (if it deserves to be called that) got the game it deserved today. It took lots of extra time and involved huge sums of money being spent by Chelsea to get there. Ironic, huh?

The pitch was slow, the design wasn't particularly great either. I don't rate it as a good stadium by any means. Atmosphere wasn't bad but considering it was a final with eighty-odd thousand people in it, it should have been a hell of a lot better.

Yeah the pitch was all chopped up i couldn't understand it they only played 1 game before this one and that was the italy 21's vs england u21's friendly. Also it was delayed so much by this arch and the arch looks crap, they would have been better to keep the old twin towers that they used to have there.

meh i don't really have any feelings towards it, i mean yes the pitch was crap but i sure after this game they will re-lay the pitch and problem solved. As far as the architecture goes, i don't mind it i thought it looked kinda cool but nothing really special, nothing like the Allianz Arena which stands out and looks fantastic :)

Atmosphere crap but then that was probably aided by the fact it was such a crap game with nothing happening and that half the people in there weren't chelsea or arsenal fans.
Pathetic how much they paid for the stadium and the prices they are charging in there to make up for the cost ios also pretty disgusting - £10 for a programme, no thanks.
Architecture, okay, nothing really special. Not as good as the old one.
Pitch, it was poor in the Under 21's England, Italy game and so they had a fair amount of time to improve it but they couldn't mabage that.
The only positive about it really is the Bobby Moore statue is a nice touch.

The stadium is a great stadium actually.

People can't slag the stadium off for having a bad atmosphere, when it is up to the supporters to provide it.
The reason the atmosphere was so bad was because the match was equally as poor.

For Wembley Stadium to be officially opened with a game like that is saddening! But that's all for another post.

Yes, the stadium was over budget, yes the stadium was late in completion, yes the prices of merchandise etc was over the top, but take that away, we do now have a fantastic national arena, which I am proud of.

Fair enough, you were actually there unlike us. Do you have any pictures or videos you can share?

I agree Claire, except I think the architecture looked pretty cool to me. But the rest you said is perfectly true, £10 for the programme is waaay too much.

I thought the stadium was fantastic and was very impressed with it. The only criticisms I can think of is obv the prices of the food and drinks, which obv we didn't buy, and the ques for the toilets at half time were manic and weren't properly managed. At pitch side again the stadium looked fantastic and the atmosphere was brilliant and we outsung their fans, and we had much better songs aswell of course.

Overall though an excellent day except for the result!
