Bayern beat the reds on penalties
match reportAfter a 0-0 affair where Rooney and Owen both squadered opportunities to win it the match was decided on penalties. England vs Germany if you will. All even after 5 penalties a-piece Van Buyeten won it in sudden death for Bayern to win 7-6 on penalties.

Rooney revels but Owen hits the winner
match reportIn the first pre-season game it was Wayne Rooney, back in his preferred role off Berbatov, who was the shining light. Opening the scoring inside 10 minutes then adding an assist for Nani to make it 2-1 at half time. Foster's error looked to have given the Malaysian XI a 2-2 draw before Owen pounced to score on his debut the winner.

Obertan passes medical
transfer newsAfter Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud yesterday announced an agreement had been reached for the sale of Obertan it appears that the French winger today passed a medical at Carringon. He is now exepcted to sign for about £8m.
